As a parent, grandparent, and educator deeply engaged with the special needs community, I have developed a strong resolve to advocate for myself and my family. I have learned to assert my position and not allow external factors to dictate our lives. By asking pertinent questions, actively participating in decision-making processes, and ensuring that our rights are recognized and respected, I strive to create a supportive and empowering environment for my family and community.

Life will inevitably bring changes, both positive and negative. However, it is our response to these changes that determines whether we are empowered.
